CBB plays at the Midwest Clinic as a Chamber group
The Chicago Brass Band was honored and privileged to perform at the 65th
Annual Midwest Clinic - An International Band and Orchestra Conference
- WEBSITE
- The last time a British style Brass Band performed at Midwest was in
2002.
The well appreciative audience of music educators and CBB family filled
the Skyline Ballroom W375E of the McCormick Place Convention Center to
the brim - as an estimated 800 attendees anxiously listened to the CBB.
This Midwest performance was designed to meet both the expectations of
showcasing fine original material for brass band and serving the educational
community. The CBB accomplished this task by selecting six original compositions;
three are well known in their transcriptions for concert band and the
other three provide historical significance and stylistic diversity for
the audience, as well as showcase the variety and entertainment that the
Chicago Brass Band brings to their concert audiences worldwide.
For those who missed this opportunity with Guest Conductor James Curnow
and Guest Soloist Jens Lindemann, more detailed information about this
incredible experience is below.
Thank you again to all in attendance as this was a great day for the Chicago
Brass Band and the brass banding movement!
