Tabatha is a co-founder
of the Chicago Brass Band. Tabatha was born and raised in New Castle,
DE. She began her study of the French Horn when she was 7 years old, and
received many awards and membership in All-State Orchestra, All-State
Band and All-Star Band all the way thru High School Graduation. She continued
her education at Temple University in Philadelphia where she studied music
performance and education and private study with Joseph D'Angelis of the
Philadelphia Symphony. At LaFayette College in PA, Tabatha was twice certified
Drum Major and marched with the Reading Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corps.
She was an Assistant Band Director at William Penn High School for 2 years
before moving to Los Angeles, CA. Tabatha worked in the Music Industry
for 7 years for Rico International (Boosey& Hawkes) and Samick Music
( piano and guitar manufacturer) in Marketing, Sales, Project Management
and Artist Relations.
While in Los Angeles, Tabatha studied with Bob Watt of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and performed in various symphonic bands, orchestras, woodwind and brass quintets. In the spring of 2000, she moved to Chicago and joined the Palatine Concert Band, the North Shore Symphonic Band and the Prairie Brass Band. She served on the Board of Directors for the Prairie Brass Band. In 2002, Tabatha she became a founder member of the CBB. She served as the President of the Chicago Brass Band for its first 3 years. Tabatha works as a Project Manager for Methode Electronics and is also active in community organizing and volunteering through the Obama 2008 campaign. She lives with her 3 black cats in Arlington Heights. " . . . I am VERY excited to work with this fine group of musicians.
