Mike is a 2007 graduate of Western Illinois University’s School of Music, who has taught periodically for the last several years, both in the public school and private setting. He studied trumpet under Dr. Bruce C. Briney for 3 years at WIU, as well as euphonium for 1 year, under John Mindeman.

He has since changed careers and is now employed as a medical software technician with M.E. Computer Systems, Inc. A native of Aurora Illinois, Mike has been a performing member of the Chicago Brass Band for 1 year, and a member of the Fox Valley Concert Band for 1 year.

Before his time in the Chicago Brass Band, he played in the Aurora American Legion Band for 7 seasons, playing trumpet, trombone, and Euphonium depending on the needs of the band. He loves having the opportunity to continue playing music at a high level, even if he is unable to continue teaching for the time being.
